Local Alcohol Profiles 2011
> Suicide and Self-harm in the South West - Report: Report examining data on suicides and hospital admissions for self-harm in the South West. It provides recommendations for health, social care and other agencies for prevention and the reduction of harm. Read more here.

> 2011 Update to Local Alcohol Profiles (August 2011): These profiles contain 25 alcohol-related indices for every local authority and 22 for every PCT. As well as local area data on alcohol-related hospital admissions and alcohol-related crime, the 2011 profiles also include experimental data on levels of abstainers in each Local authority and the proportion of drinkers who drink at lower, increasing and higher health risk levels. The South West Public Health Observatory (SWPHO) aims to improve the health of the population in the South West. Through the collection, monitoring and analysis of data, we produce evidence to inform decision-making on health issues at local, regional and national levels.
This site acts as a portal between the SWPHO website and South West Observatory (SWO) network websites. Over time this will be further developed in order to better link together information and resources about public health information across SWO's policy themes.  
Through these pages, visitors can also search content from across SWO's Core Unit, other thematic modules, local intelligence networks as well as its wider network. There is also a link to search resources from across the SWPHO network, including the national Association of Public Health Observatories (APHO).
On this site you will find the latest SWPHO Resources sign-posted, including the SWPHO Newsletter and recent 2010 Health Profiles. You will also find information about the series of SWPHO Intelligence Hubs which focus providing intelligence about specific health issues for decision-makers. With additional links to SWPHO News and SWO News plus events taking place in and about the South West, we hope this site is of interest and of use in keeping you up-to-date on public health resources and information.
